WAIMEA — Mid-Pacific Institute’s Chance Tanigawa pitched three innings and posted two strikeouts, giving up no hits in the Owls 11-1 win over the Kapa‘a High School Warriors in the Waimea Invitational Baseball Tournament yesterday in Waimea.
Russell Doi went 3-for-4 with 2 RBI, Easton Torigoe was 2-for-3 with a double, Mike Nakamine was 2-for-2 with 2 RBI and Derek Tan was 3-for-3 with 2 RBI, yesterday.
For Kapa‘a, their only run came at the top of the fourth inning when B.J. Aiwohi got a hit off of Mid-Pac relief pitcher Kase Kaneko.
Kaneko then walked three in a row to bring in Aiwohi.
The game was called after five innings.
St. Louis 11, Waimea 1
HANAPEPE — St. Louis School’s T. DeMello went 2-for-3, K. Gonzago 3-for-4, M. Samia went 2-for-3 in yesterday’s 11-1 win over Waimea at Hanapepe Stadium.
Waimea came up with three hits in the game which was called after five innings.
Kaua‘i 10, Kamehameha Schoosl Hawai‘i
WAIMEA — Braden Balocan pitched all seven innings, allowing two runs, six hits and striking out seven batters in Kaua‘i High School’s 10-2 victory over Kamehameha Schools Hawai‘i yesterday in Waimea.
Andrew Renaud went 3-for-5, Landan Rice was 2-for-4 and Taran Tani also went 2-for-4.
For Kamehameha, M. Kazimero was 2-for-4. K. Soares started for the Warriors, but was relieved by Blake Amaral who gave up five runs.
The games continue today Mid-Pac playing a double-header in Hanapepe. The Owls play Kamehameha starting at 9 a.m., then play Kaua‘i at 11:30 a.m.
Waimea will play Campbell High Schools at 9 a.m. in Waimea. Kapa‘a will play St. Louis at 11:30 a.m. also in Waimea.
