The Pu‘uwai Canoe Club, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting double-hull canoe races for persons with disabilities Saturday, with registration at 8 a.m. and the race slated to begin at 9.
The event is open to anyone who would like to participate, including children or adults who would like to paddle up the Wailua River in a double-hulled canoe.
Experienced paddlers will be in every canoe.
The event will include games and prizes and lunch will be served.
The event is free for people with disabilities.
Children will need to have a waiver signed by parent or guardian.
Those interested in making a $10 donation are welcome to do so.
The event sponsors include Kaua‘i Pasta, Hoomana Thrift Store, and ARC of Kauai‘i.
