A 67-year-old Princeville woman is in serious condition at Wilcox Memorial Hospital after being struck by a vehicle yesterday while waiting to cross the street in Princeville.
Joyce Barrett was standing in the middle of Pepelani Loop at the Kahaku Road junction, waiting to cross Kahaku Road at around 7 a.m. She was hit by a vehicle driven by a 53-year-old Princeville woman who was making a left turn onto Pepelani Loop from Kahaku Road.
Barrett sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene. She was later transported to Wilcox Hospital for further treatment.
The driver was cited for making an improper left turn.
