Pancakes and Maui pineapple is definitely a good combination for Sunday, and Kelvin Moniz said the East Kaua‘i Lions still have tickets for the pancake breakfast, Sunday.
And if pancakes and all the goodies aren’t enough, there’s the Masa Arita miso soup which will tie everything together. Check out Jeff Venzon (he was at the county’s 13 Under boys basketball game, Monday), or any of the other Lions … Steven Fujii (he was at the ACF Brunch), John Ochoco (he plays for Kawaihau?), and Ron Garlie (does this mean the Sons of Kaua‘i are coming, too?) at Puhi Paint.
Alden Lahip was at the Monday night games to watch Ariel and Peterson. He said their KCC Grand Buffet is also coming up March 4, but you gotta check with chef Martina Hilldorfer to see if they still have tickets. Last word was there were just a few more left, so gotta hurry.
Between the birthdays and deceased rice cookers, almost forgot that Allicyn Hayes has the first Annual Kaua‘i Stride and Ride this Saturday, too. This event will help Jordyn Valdez (she’s our MDA cover girl) and the rest of Jerry’s (Lewis) kids who suffer from muscular dystrophy. Allicyn said there’s still time to form teams and walk at Kukui Grove Shopping Center.
With that, congratulations and good luck to Kalani Vierra and his daughter Keala who will be heading to Australia on Friday to compete in a tandem surfing competition after the pair won the tandem division at the Buffalo Kealoha tournament in Makaha last week.
