Applications can be downloaded from the county Web site, www.kauai.gov, in the “What’s New” section on the home page.
Applications can also be picked up at the Lihu‘e Civic Center, Mo‘ikeha Building, Department of Personnel Services, Suite 140, or Mayor’s Office, Suite 235, or at any neighborhood center.
The deadline for turning in an application is April 18. All applicants selected for employment are required to pass a drug-screening test and/or successfully complete a fingerprinting and criminal history record check.
High school or college students 16 years or older who are interested in gaining valuable work experience are encouraged to apply.
Internships will be offered in various county departments this summer, along with other positions including recreation and golf course aides, as well as beach and pool lifeguards.
Supervisory positions are also available for qualified adults as program coordinators and site managers for the Summer Enrichment Program.
The intern program will provide seven weeks of employment from June 16 through July 31. Employment in the Summer Enrichment Program will run for 5-1/2 weeks from June 12 to July 21.
The Beach and Pool Lifeguard Program is slated to start the first week in June and end in August.
