KAPA‘A — Tickets for the Kapa‘a High School PTSA 125th Year Luau are now on sale.
Kathleen Olsen, chairperson for the luau, said tickets can be obtained from any of the Kapa‘a High School seniors, or at the Hanalei Surf Co. in Hanalei, Pono Market in Kapa‘a, or Deja Vu at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center.
Mi Nei Oliver, whose daughter is part of the Class of 2008, is a former Miss Garden Isle and a 26-time Tahitian solo dance winner.
Her Urahutia halau will present the headline entertainment for the gala, which according to Olsen who was helping man a table at the 5th Annual Eastside family summit, will benefit this year’s Project Grad and other student body activities.
Preceding the polynesian revue, the Hawaiian Immersion class will open the evening with a chant. That will be followed by performers offering Hawaiian and contemporary music by current students as well as alumni.
Olsen said the luau will take place Feb. 16 at the Kapa‘a High School cafeteria with the doors opening at 5 p.m.
Tickets are $20 per person donation, and take-outs are available at $15 per person. Reserved seating is also available.
Dinner will be served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. under the guidance of chef Vic Punua Jr.
In addition to the luau and show, door prizes, a Silent Auction and more will highlight the evening which is a drug and alcohol free event.
