Three Kaua‘i High School’s four basketball scorers posted double-doubles last night in the Red Raiders 54-45 victory over the Warrios of Kapa‘a High School at the Raiderdome.
Kaua‘i’s Basil Walton led the team with 25 points, 13 rebounds and was 3-of-5 from the foul line. Travis Stine 13 points, 10 rebounds, two steals and two assists. Jeremy Robinson finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Kaua‘i final other scorer was Tyrus Ceria-Lux who banked a 3-pointer and a free throw in the first quarter and a layup in the second.
Kapa‘a enjoyed a late-game rush outscoring Kaua‘i 16-11.
The Warriors were led by John Berales who finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Kekoa Prem finished with 10 points, two rebounds and five assists. Kaleo Cummings and Kila Youn both had 6 points apiece.
With the win, Kaua‘i remains undefeated on the season.
In the junior varsity game, Kaua‘i beat Kapa‘a 50-43. The Raiders were led by Nick Chow who posted 10 points and Cody who scored 9. Austin Simao and Davone Florence both finished with 8 points.
For Kapa‘a, Lewis Lindsey led the Warriors with 11 points. Kapono Cummings finished with 9 points and Stephen Greenleaf finished with 8.
The Raiders travel to Waimea Wednesday to face the Menehune. The junior varsity teams will start the night with tipoff at 5:30 p.m. The varsity game will follow.
