Dean Nadatani
Dean Takemi Nadatani of Lawa‘i died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 30, 2007, at the age of 63.
Born in Waimea on April 11, 1944, he was previously employed by Von Hamm-Young, Avis Rent-A-Car, Garden Island Motors, Kauai Auto Center and the county of Kaua‘i.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joichi and Haruye Nadatani, and father- and mother-in-law Joseph and Eleanor DeCosta.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Nadatani; son Dean Nadatani Jr. of Hawai‘i Kai, O‘ahu; daughters Terry (Lex Tam Ho) Crowell of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu, Shelley (Joseph) Gandeza of Lawa‘i and Sandi Nadatani of Lawa‘i; grandchildren Ashley Keani Crowell, Dylan Crowell, Marcus Brown and Luke Gandeza; one great-grandchild, Kasen Crowell-Pimienta; brothers Kenneth Sadao Nadatani of Waipahu and James (Fran) Nadatani of ‘Ele‘ele; sister Joy Kagawa of Puhi; brother-in-law Joseph (Landa) DeCosta; sisters-in-law Margie (Dana) Akita and Carol (Steven) Shinagawa; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Mass officiated by Father Nap will begin at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and the family asks that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Yoshihiro Nakamura
Yoshihiro Nakamura of Wailua Houselots passed away at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Jan. 7, at the age of 87. Born in Kapahi on April 30, 1920, he was the owner of Nakamura Repair Shop. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hisayo Nakamura; two sons, Clyde (Graciela) Nakamura of San Fernando Valley, Calif., and Milton Nakamura of Kapa‘a; two daughters, Irene (Paul) Nitta of Honolulu and Marie (Gene) Hashimura of Kapa‘a; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother Suyeyoshi (Sueno) Nakamura of Kapa‘a; sister Misao Nakamura of Kapa‘a; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may visit with the family from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Kapa‘a Hongwanji Mission.The service begins at 3 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.

Geraldine Reuarin
Geraldine Reuarin of Lihu‘e died at her home on Jan. 1, at the age of 55.
Born Dec. 24, 1952, in Lihu‘e, she was a meat cutter for Big Save in Lihu‘e. She also coached soccer and helped special-needs children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Emily Fernandez Sr. She is survived by her husband, Andy Reuarin Sr.; daughters Sonya Ortiz, Kimmie (Kevin) Cabreira and Corina (Jonathan) Wong; sons Andy (Robin) Reuarin Jr. and Ace Reuarin; 14 grandchildren; brothers George (Chica) Fernandez Jr, Joseph (Monique) Fernandez and William Fernandez; sisters Julia Fernandez, Anna-Beatrice (Bobby) Rita and Rosalie (James) Yamamoto; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, at King’s Chapel in Hanama‘ulu, where services will be at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and suggests casual attire. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Constantino Eduria Lagoc
Constantino Eduria Lagoc of Lihu‘e died Dec. 29, 2007, at his home at the age of 72.
Born Sept. 26, 1935, in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, the Philippines, he was a plantation worker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Juana Lagoc, brother Felimon Lagoc and brother-in-law Abraham Ibalio. He is survived by his wife, Elia Lagoc of Lihu‘e; daughters Thelma (Irineo Soriano) Pascual of Lihu‘e, Ciony (Mark) Lagoc-Williams of Honolulu, Lydia (James) Guess of Virginia and Elisa (Lawrence) Lagoc-Chang of Hanama‘ulu; sisters Romana (Santiago) Rivera of California, Flordeliza (Nelson) Salud of California, and Aurea Ibalio of Chicago; brothers Peter (Arleen) Lagoc of California and Rosario (Edita) Lagoc of the Philippines; sister-in-law Magdalena Lagoc of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Jan 12, at Immaculate Conception Church where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Bill. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Wayne Yoshito Soma
Wayne Yoshito Soma died on Nov. 19, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Birgit; children Mark (Cindy), Dirk (Rachel), and Chante (Ballard) Kalahiki; grandchildren; and sisters Jacqueline H. Pactol, Linda M.L. Soma and Gayle K. Bonham.
There will be a memorial service at the Kauai Veterans Center on Jan. 11, at 11 a.m.
