Sheldon Camacho
Sheldon Eric Camacho of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 24, 2007, at the age of 46.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1961, in Hilo and was employed by Kauai Commercial as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Camacho; sons Palani Eric Camacho, Ikaika Glenn (Kathleen Andres) Camacho, Kale Keith Camacho and Keolamaikalani Joshua Camacho, all of Kapa‘a; daughter Erica-Shay Pukanaaloha Paishon-Camacho of Kailua-Kona; god-daughters Raynell Clerese Pilialoha Olivera of Hilo, Georgie-Anna Kehaulani Himalaya of Kailua-Kona; parents Donald and Carole Laa Sr. and Joseph and Charlotte Camacho, all of Hilo; brothers Recardo Camacho of California, Randall (Heather) Oreta and Donald (Claudine) Laa Jr. both of Hilo; sisters Sheldyn “Dolly” Camacho, Renee (Mark) Olivera Sr., Roxanne (Bernie) Llanes, all of the Big Island; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Kapa‘a Missionary Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Thomas (Butch) Kahawai. Cremation to follow. Casual attire suggested.

Bruce O’Donnell
Bruce Gerald O’Donnell of Kapa‘a died at home on Dec. 28, 2007, at the age of 51.
He was born in Boston, Mass., on Dec. 12, 1956, and was employed by the Honolulu Police Department for 20 years and retired with Kaua‘i Police Department after five years of service.
He is survived by his wife Joni O’Donnell; sons Lloyd P. Albinio Jr. of Kapa‘a and Lloyd J. K. Albinio of Honolulu; siblings Mary, Ruth, Ellen, Peter, Catherine, David, Tim, Hugh, John, Leo, Grace; grandchildren Keanu Albinio, Leiani Lynn and Haley Hokulani; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family will be from 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Kapa‘a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness. Services will begin at 2 p.m.
The family requested casual attire and declines flowers. Inurnment will be private.

Alvin Hiroshi Nagata
Alvin Hiroshi Nagata of San Diego, Calif., died Dec. 6, 2007, at the age of 67.
Born April 9, 1940, to Haruko and Choshiro Nagata, he is survived by brothers Richard Nagata and Larry I. Nagata; sisters Yoshiko Matsumori, Matsue Abe and Tsurue Yoshimura; and aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests that remembrances be sent to Keiro Nursing Home, 2221 Lincoln Park Ave., Los Angeles, Calif. 90031, or to an organization of one’s choice.
Private memorials were held at San Diego, Calif., Los Angeles, Calif., and Hawai‘i.
Wayne Yoshito Soma
Wayne Yoshito Soma died on Nov. 19, 2007, survived by his wife, Birgit; children Mark (Cindy), Dirk (Rachel), and Chante (Ballard) Kalahiki; grandchildren; and sisters Jacqueline H. Pactol, Linda M.L. Soma and Gayle K. Bonham.
There will be a memorial service at the Kauai Veterans Center Jan. 11, at 11 a.m.
Ruth Ewaliko Texeira
Ruth Ewaliko Texeira of Anahola died Dec. 26, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 94.
Born Dec. 22, 1913, in Hawai‘i, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by daughters Flora Wilcox Torres and Ruth Wong Felipe, she is survived by daughter Annie (Ronald) Kim; sons Clifford (Lani) Wong, Joseph (Janet) Wong and Solomon (Verna) Wong; brother-in-law Asao Ahana; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, at Koolau Huiia Church in Anahola. Services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the church cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
John Hoopii Sr.
John Healaniku Hoopii Sr. of Kealia died at his home on Dec. 23, 2007, at the age of 79.
Born on Feb. 3, 1928, he retired as a supervisor with Lihu‘e Plantation Co., and was part of the Coco Palms Trio at the Coco Palms Hotel. He dedicated the rest of his life to the work of the Lord and was the music director at the Maranatha Fellowship Church of God in Kalaheo.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie Chong Hoopii, daughter Healani (Gordon) Sanchez, son John (Mapuana) Hoopii Jr., sisters Violet Anna Coleman and Emily Manu Lono, 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Private services were held.
