Lynnette Keiko Kyono Meatoga
Lynnette Keiko Kyono Meatoga of Kalaheo died on Dec. 18, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital on O‘ahu, at the age of 43.
Born Dec. 6, 1964, she was the county of Kaua‘i IT administrator.
She is survived by her husband, Kenny Meatoga; sons Vaughn Meatoga and Kaleomana Meatoga; daughter Kelly Meatoga, all of Kalaheo; mother Jean Shizuko Kyono of Kalaheo; brothers Steven (Kathie) Kyono of Lawa‘i, Russell (Tisha) Kyono of Lawa‘i, Glen (Suzie) Kyono of Kalaheo; and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Sparky Kyono.
Lynnette was a board member of the Kauai Jr. Golf Association, Kalawai Youth Baseball Association and the Kamehameha School’s Association of Kauai.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Kalaheo Missionary Church. Visitation will run from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a service to follow. Casual attire is suggested and the family asks that flowers be omitted.
Wayne Yoshito Soma
Wayne Yoshito Soma died on Nov. 19, 2007. He is survived by his wife, Birgit; children Mark (Cindy), Dirk (Rachel), and Chante (Ballard) Kalahiki; grandchildren; and sisters Jacqueline H. Pactol, Linda M.L. Soma and Gayle K. Bonham.
There will be a memorial service at the Kauai Veterans Center Jan. 11, at 11 a.m.
Isao Morioka
Isao Morioka of ‘Ele‘ele died at Garden Isle Healthcare on Dec. 16, 2007, at the age of 88.
Born in Hanapepe Valley on Oct. 5, 1919, he was a mill worker with McBryde Sugar Plantation.
He is survived by his wife, Yoneko; daughters Shelley (William) Siegman of O‘ahu and Doris (Charles) Faulks of Lihu‘e; two grandchildren; sister Toshie Nishioka of Wailua; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Services are private.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Kanichi Tanigawa
Kanichi Tanigawa of Hanapepe died at his home on Dec. 14, 2007, at the age of 83. Born in Makaweli, Kaua‘i, on Sept. 30, 1924, he was a proprietor. He is survived by his wife, Alicia Tanigawa; two sons, Errol Tanigawa and Eldon Tanigawa, both of Hanapepe; daughter Fay Mukai of California; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services were private.

Sheldon Camacho
Sheldon Eric Camacho of Kapa‘a died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Dec. 24, 2007, at the age of 46.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1961, in Hilo and was employed by Kauai Commercial as a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Camacho; sons Palani Eric Camacho, Ikaika Glenn (Kathleen Andres) Camacho, Kale Keith Camacho, Keolamaikalani Joshua Camacho, all of Kapa‘a; daughter Erica-Shay Pukanaaloha Paishon-Camacho of Kailua-Kona; god-daughters Raynell Clerese Pilialoha Olivera of Hilo and Georgie-Anna Kehaulani Himalaya of Kailua-Kona; parents Donald and Carole Laa Sr. and Joseph and Charlotte Camacho, all of Hilo; brothers Recardo Camacho of California, Randall (Heather) Oreta and Donald (Claudine) Laa Jr., both of Hilo; sisters Sheldyn “Dolly” Camacho, Renee (Mark) Olivera Sr., Roxanne (Bernie) Llanes, all of the Big Island; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Kapa‘a Missionary Church from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., with services beginning at 11 a.m. officiated by Pastor Thomas (Butch) Kahawai. Cremation to follow. Casual attire suggested.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Camacho family with arrangements.
