Lynnette Keiko Kyono Meatoga
Lynnette Keiko Kyono Meatoga, of Kalaheo, died on Dec. 18, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital on O‘ahu, at the age of 43.
Born Dec. 6, 1964, she was the County of Kaua‘i I.T administrator.
She is survived by her husband Kenny Meatoga; sons Vaughn Meatoga and Kaleomana Meatoga; daughter Kelly Meatoga, all of Kalaheo; mother Jean Shizuko Kyono of Kalaheo; brothers Steven (Kathie) Kyono of Lawa‘i, Russell (Tisha) Kyono of Lawa‘i, Glen (Suzie) Kyono of Kalaheo, numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father Sparky Kyono.
Lynnette was a board member of the Kaua‘i Jr.. Golf Association; Kalawai Youth Baseball Association and the Kamehameha School’s Association of Kaua‘i .
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Kalaheo Missionary Church. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and service to follow. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Carmen Vicente
Carmen Labrador Vicente of ‘Ele‘ele, died Dec. 14, 2007, at her home at the age of 80.
Born Sept. 19, 1927, in Kilauea, she was a homemaker, and volunteered to teach sewing to the senior citizens on the Westside of Kaua‘i.
She is survived by her husband Justo Vicente of ‘Ele‘ele; daughters Nina (Romeo) Ramelb of ‘Oma‘o, Lynn (Nick) Abramo of Honolulu; son Kenneth (Lisa) Vicente of California; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers: Fabian Guerrero of California; Christian Labrador of Lihu‘e, Jose Labrador of Lihu‘e, and Felipe Labrador of Kapa‘a; sisters Fabiana Guerrero of California, Cenona Eliseo Acob of Kapa‘a. Ines (Andres) Lazara of Kapa‘a; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that flowers be omitted.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Nap. Burial to follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery.
Aloha attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Loretta Apilado
Loretta Maria Lordes Martinez Apilado of Kilauea died December 21, 2007 at the age of 78.
Born in Kilauea, on Feb. 2, 1931, she was a pantry prep cook for over 15 years at the Kaua‘i Resort Hotel (Aloha Beach Resort).
She is survived by her daughter Donna Apilado (Chris) Schumacher of Kilauea and stepsons Herminio Apilado of Montebello, Calif., and Justin Apilado of Kilauea; grandson, Philip Waldemar of Kilauea; sisters Maria Miranda of Kilauea, Trinidad Barbusa of Wahiawa, and Precides Busto of Kilauea; brothers Elpidio Martinez of Yucaipa, Calif., Feliciano Martinez of Wahiawa and John Martinez of Honolulu; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio “Tony” Apilado.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. tomorrow, Dec. 27, at the Calvary Chapel North Shore in Kilauea. Casual attire is suggested. Memorial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens. Refreshments and pupus at the family’s residence.
