Beth Cuizon did a masterful job with the Waimea High School band. Not only did they have a concert earlier in the week, the band actually played Christmas music in the Waimea Lighted Parade, and its boosters, headed by Laura Haack, had goodies for sale to help the band’s fund-raising efforts.
Sunday, it was a wonderful day to check out inline hockey action at the upgraded Kapa‘a inline skating facility. Penni Taketa is still waiting on the new clocks and timing systems…you gotta hear the “horn.” But she gives all the credit to coach Todd Mayer who has been coordinating the replacing of the original equipment with equipment they got from a rink in California.
Wallis Punua was there to check out the action as was Colleen McCracken, and one of the good things about Winter Break is all the college students who come back to help out.
Penni was getting excited because the final phase of the A‘e Kamali‘i preschool takes place Thursday with the installation of the bike path, and she figures she has to run away to make the Friday game…if you come to the nightcap, Kirsten McCracken said she plays in that game.
Gregg Gonsalves had the best Sugar Bowl (Naoko Ho is getting excited about her trip, too) story to date, when he was watching the Warriors’ pre-season basketball games…any word about the new football coach?
OK, it’s time to go check out the after-Christmas sales!
