Marcelo Claudio died at home in Kekaha on Dec. 12, 2007, at the age of 101.
Born in the Philippines in Dec. 12, 1906, he was a laborer with Kekaha Sugar Mill.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Claudio; sisters Maria Bagalayos of Tarlac, Philippines; sister-in-law Dolores Raquel of Kekaha, and niece Memory (Rob) Robinson, of Kekaha.
Friends can visit at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 23, at Lawa‘i Seventh-day Adventist Church. Services will begin at 11 a.m.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. at Kekaha Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested. The family asks that flowers be omitted.
Frank “Popo” M. Mead
Frank “Popo” M. Mead, a Kona resident for 25 years and an ‘Ele‘ele resident for two years, died Dec. 16, 2007, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital. He was 78 years old.
Born April 27, 1929, in Los Angeles, Calif., he was a retired security serviceman and a military veteran.
He is survived by his daughters Karen Bowman, Patty Anderson and Dianne Dickson; sons Chad M. Mead and Frankie Paclib; stepson Alfred Morales Jr.; stepdaughters Julia Morton, Patricia Aweau, Susan Lake, Sandra Lake, Rosemarie (Lito) Cayaban, Mona (Randy) Whitacre, Marlene Schimmelfenig, Florine Kuulei (Albert “Gus”) Becklund, Josey K. Morales and Judy Ann (Kenneth) Waikiki; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private services will be at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
