Car rolls Sunday in Kapa‘a

KAPA‘A — A silver Hyundai sedan rolled over in the middle of Kuhio Highway between Olympic Cafe and Shaka Taco Sunday night damaging a parked Jeep and injuring the driver.

Police responded to the overturned car at 8:48 p.m., said Mary Daubert, county spokeswoman.

The driver, a 54-year-old Kapa‘a woman, was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.

Police concluded the sedan was traveling southbound on Kuhio Highway when it drifted to the right and hit the Jeep parked in front of Shaka Taco.

In trying to take evasive action, Daubert said, the driver rolled the car onto its roof.

The Jeep’s left rear bumper and wheel area sustained minor damages.

Further information was unavailable at press time.
