A Christmas concert benefit for Malama Pono and the Garden Island Arts Council will take place at 7 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Kilohana Pavilion. Kauai’s singers will present favorite Christmas music in a cabaret-style while dressed in their snazziest attire: black tie and gown. The “Kauai Sings! Christmas” concert features music designed to take the audience back to those magical Christmas times from childhood and the nostalgia of joyous family gatherings.
The event is a continuation of the very popular “Kauai Sings!” series, which has featured the songs of Broadway, Valentine’s and the ’50s and ’60s. The emcee for the evening is KKCR’s Richard Porto.
Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, $15 for students. Reserved tables of 10 are $200. A no-host bar and food for purchase will be available. Tickets can be purchased in the community at Hanalei Video and Music, Magic Dragon Toys, Kilauea Pharmacy, Bounty Music, Borders, Island Soap and Candle, and Dr. Ding’s Surf Shop. For more information or tickets, contact Malama Pono at 246-9577.
