“Santa’s Gone Kauaian” at the 11th Annual Festival of Lights inside Kaua‘i’s Historic County Building. Outside thousands of mini-lights illuminate the Historic County Building Park. Inside, volunteers have created Kaua‘i-style Christmas touches.
Keiki can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in their magical Fern Grotto surrounded by orchids, hibiscus, anthuriums and taro. Visitors will enjoy the miniature Hawaiian hales in the cane-train village and all the treasures that make Kaua‘i so unique n from rainbows to roosters and dolphins!
Auntie Josie Chansky’s original folk art creations from her famous Kapa’a Christmas House will be there. This year’s Festival of Lights also features a sparkly tribute to Kaua‘i’s paniolos as well as a charming display of Kaua‘i-style nutcrackers.
And be on the lookout for the whimsical SPAM trees and Santa’s sleigh being pulled by roosters.
Throughout December, families can visit Santa and Mrs. Claus on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., including Christmas Eve. The Festival of Lights is open through Dec. 30.
