Dr. Gordon LaBedz, family physician at Kaiser Permanente and former Professor of Family Medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine will give a lecture at the upcoming vegan potluck.
LaBedz became a vegetarian while a medical resident in 1973 and has been active in the vegetarian and environmental movements for the past three decades.
His presentation “Losing Weight in 2008: The Dietary Big Picture” will be the topic of this luncheon.
Please join the Vegetarian Society for a vegan potluck and LaBedz’s lecture at noon Sunday at the Kapa‘a Neighborhood Center. Bring a vegan dish and include an ingredient list. Original recipes are encouraged.
Potlucks are free and open to the public. Those who prefer not to bring a dish are welcome with a donation of $5. There is a prize for the best recipe.
