The band debuted its new look at the Veterans Day service Sunday, and sounded as good as they looked … great job to Beth and Laura Haack who was right there supporting her sons who had played the night before at the Wilcox Hospital gala.
Bill Honjiyo did a great job filling in for his minister who was recovering from a medical ailment, and it’s always a pleasure to work with Johnny Michael from the Pacific Missile Range Facility … Johnny was even at the parade Saturday in Kapa‘a. And after the service, guess what? Tom Clements showed up, too.
Donovan Travaso and his Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery crew always do a bang-up job getting the place ready for the services, and as always, Harvey Maeda and Suzette Momohara escorted Harvey’s mom to the service, and Mel Rapozo had his patriotic shirt on to celebrate the event.
Kudos to coach Kevin Devitt, Karl Ubongen, Kevin Gusman and his KSA ‘ohana for doing a great job with the KSA Seven-a-Side league which ended Sunday with a whole bunch of great championship games.
Coach Leonard Vegas was actually getting ready from last week when he had some of his Westside United players catching the AYSO Region 940 finals and the Wil Veeck tournament, too … now, it’s on to KIF.
