Kaua‘i resident Yogi Anthony Prem Carlisi announced the debut of his first book “The Only Way Out is In: A Modern Day Yogi’s Commentary on the Synergy of Ashtanga Yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra.”
The book is a spiritual memoir on his life and explorations, as well as a source of practical, applicable information about the practices of Ashtanga yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra. The synergy of these three sciences are what Carlisi believes to be the key to living a healthy, rooted and ecstatic life.
The book is written in a down-to-earth manner. It is a candid inner look, spoken from the heart of a devoted, 30-year yoga practitioner.
There will be two book signings: one at 1:30 p.m., Saturday at The Kaua‘i Wellness Center, 4544 Kukui St., in Kapa‘a and at 1:30 p.m., on Sunday in Hanalei at Yoga Hanalei (Dragon Building).
When not in Kaua‘i, Prem travels worldwide giving workshops and seminars on the benefits of yoga, Ayurveda and Tantra to hundreds of students. He has a retreat center in Sri Lanka, Sham-bhala Cove, where people from around the globe come to practice yoga with him.
Prem has shared his knowledge of yoga and Ayurveda over the past 30 years with thousands of people from all walks of life. Some of the more notable people he has taught include: Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin of the rock band Coldplay; Jennifer Gardner; NBA coach Pat Riley; best selling author Dr. Dean Ornish; actor Pierce Brosnan; and Olympic gold medalist Dan O’Brien.
