HONOLULU — Hawai‘i quarterback Colt Brennan’s attempt to break the NCAA career passing touchdown record will be televised on national TV.
ESPN2 has added Hawai‘i’s home game against Fresno State on Nov. 10, school officials announced yesterday.
The game, however, will be blacked out in Hawai‘i and Fresno. Hawai‘i fans can view the game on pay-per-view. The schools, ESPN and the Western Athletic Conference agreed to televise the game.
The addition means the Warriors’ four remaining games will be carried by the sports cable network.
Brennan is two touchdowns shy of tying the career record of 121 held by Brigham Young’s Ty Detmer, who played from 1988-91. Hawai‘i is also aiming to go undefeated and break into a BCS bowl.
“We’re so glad that we were able to work out the various details with ESPN in order to deliver this game to a national television audience,” Warriors athletic director Herman Frazier said. “Having our last four football games on national television, including three at home, will really highlight our program and provide wonderful exposure for the state of Hawai‘i.”
