Isabel Oyamot
Isabel Oyamot, of Kapa‘a, died at home on Oct. 29, 2007, at the age of 86.
She was born in Maine on Jan. 26, 1921, and retired as a telephone operator with The Reef Hotel. .
Preceded in death by husbands Frank Myers and Albert “Happy” Oyamot Sr., son Karl Herbert Myers, and step-daughter Debra Oyamot, she is survived by son Walter L. Myers of Illinois, step-son Albert Oyamot Jr. of Honolulu, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will begin with visitation at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a. Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. by Fr. Edgar Villanueva. Scattering of cremains will be private.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Oyamot family with arrangements.
Yong Ki U
Yong Ki U, of Kapa‘a, died at his home on Oct. 30, 2007, at the age of 59.
Born in Tae Gu, Korea, on July 5, 1948, he was a machine operator with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by son Tae Kyu U, of Kapa‘a; daughter Hana (Christian) Jensen of Kapa‘a; two grandchildren; companion Lucy Balmores; brothers Young Bok (Ae Cha) U, of Kapa‘a, and Young Su (Mi Soon) U, of Virginia; sisters Song Ja Yoo, of Nevada, Bok Sun U, of Korea, Kun Cha U, of Lihu‘e and Sun (Jay) Gu, of Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 5:30 to 6 p.m. only on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel. Funeral service officiated by Pastor Jung Lee Suk will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 5611 Kawaihau Road (Gas Station Building on Kawaihau Rd.); burial at Keapana Cemetery. Casual attire.

Sigundina Dela Cruz
Sigundina Lagrimas Dela Cruz of Kekaha died on Oct. 23, 2007, at the age of 88. She was born in Mayantoc, Tarlac, in the Philippines.
She is survived by husband Silvestre Dela Cruz of Kekaha; sons Remigio (Evelyn) Dela Cruz of ‘Oma‘o, Rogelio (Sonita) Dela Cruz of Kekaha, Arsenio (Elvira) Dela Cruz of California, and Monico (Rola) Dela Cruz of California; daughters Teresita (Benigno) Guillermo of Hanapepe, Rosita (Jose) Nolasco of California, and Clarita (Andronico) Rafael of California; 22 grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on Friday, Nov. 2, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and again on Saturday, Nov. 3, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha from 8 a.m to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Rosemary “Rosie” Bukoski
Rosemary “Rosie” Bukoski, of Koloa, died Oct. 22, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 60.
Born May 9, 1947, on Kaua‘i, she was the owner of Rosie’s Lunch Wagon.
She is survived by mother Elizabeth Bukoski; brothers Frank (Lynn) Bukoski and Sam (Lola) Bukoski; sisters Elaine Panui, Peggy (Davison) McCalleun, and Taddy (Joe) Penzetta; hanai siser Charlene “Ulii” Castor; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Frank Bukoski, brother Kenneth Bukoski and brother-in-law Paul Panui.
Friends may visit from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where services will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
