Yotoku “Shaun” Chinen
Yotoku “Shaun” Chinen, of Honolulu, died March 3, 2007, at Straub Clinic & Hospital.
Born Aug. 8, 1935, in Kekaha, he was a 1955 graduate of Waimea High School and a retired messenger.
He is survived by brothers Kaoru Clyde Chinen, Sosei Chinen, Tadao Dusty Chinen, Robert Hiroshi Chinen, Thomas Kembo Chinen and Edward Asahi Chinen; and sisters Mitsue Hammond and Irene Asako Rhee.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, at Waimea United Church of Christ in Waimea.
Services will be at 2 p.m Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Moanalua Mortuary.
Genevieve B. Divina
Genevieve B. Divina, of Waimea, died Oct. 14, 2007, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.
Born April 20, 1930, in Hawai‘i, she was a gardener.
She is survived by son Anhony (Fay) Divina of Kapa‘; sisters Hazel Faccentti of Utah, Anna Mae Kona of Waimea, Mary Jane Cabral of Lawa‘i, and Rose Poirier of Waimea; brother John B. Rapozo of Hanapepe; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Hanapepe Public Cemetery. Inurnment to follow. Casual attire is suggested.

Manuel Basca Cacal
Manuel Basca Cacal of Kaumakani died Sept. 29, 2007, at his home, at the age of 57.
Born Nov. 9, 1940, in the Philippines, he was a truck driver for Gay Robinson.
He is survived by his wife Filipina Cacal; daughters Juvy Tangonan, Myrna Cacal and Eden Cacal; sister Vicenta (Ernesto) Martinez; brothers Virgil (Fely) Cacal and Conrad (Salome) Cacal; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Arnel Cacal.
Family and friends may call from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa and again from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. Theresa’s Church in Kekaha where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Robert Alexander Iida III
Robert Alexander Iida III, of Kalaheo, died Oct. 15, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 20.
Born March 3, 1987, on Kaua‘i, he was a laborer.
Preceded in death by his father Robert A. Iida Jr., he is survived by his mother JoAnn Yadao; sisters Angela (Byron) Reis and Riannah (Colin) Iida; grandparents John and Maryann Frias Yadao and Jeanette Poe; hanai father Gay Kane; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Po‘ipu Beach Park.
