The Westside Pride picked up its fourth win of the season by victimizing the Westside Falcon team, 3-1 in the Under 8 division, Sunday at the North Vidinha soccer fields.
That sent the Westside Falcon to a 1-3 standing to tie with the Kapa‘a Blaze who was shut down 1-0 by the Ha‘aheo Teeney Wahine who sit at a 3-1 tie with the Ha‘aheo Boys who soared to a 10-0 win over High Maintenance.
High Maintenance is still looking for its first win at 0-4.
The Westside Falcons 10, one of two undefeated Falcons teams, improved to 3-0 on the season with its 4-0 win over the Kaua‘i Sparks in the Under 10 division.
However, the game of the day was between the Westside Falcons 9 and the Tunda Girls who battled to a 2-2 stalemate when Ryan Ruiz of the Falcons 9 netted two second-half goals to deadlock the matchup. Kawehi Taniguchi and Aleigha “Red” Scovel scored for the Tunda Girls.
The tenacious teams finished the day at 2-1-1 for the Westside Falcons 9 followed by the Tunda Girls at 1-1-2. The Kaua‘i Sparks round out the division standings at 0-4.
In a rigorous, physical defensive-oriented game that had parents cheering as hard as the youngsters played, the Westside Falcons remained undefeated after getting past the Hawaiian Heat in the Under 12 division.
With the win, the Westside Falcons hold a 3-0 record while the Hawaiian Heat drop to a 2-1-1 record, tying the KSC-Blazing Angels who was a 2-1 winner over the Lihu‘e Elements.
The Panthers, taking a 4-3 win over the Lihu‘e Elements, improved to 1-3 in the standings with the Elements rounding out the division at 1-4.
The GIFC-13, playing a double-header Sunday, dropped both ends of their matchup to drop to 0-4 in the Girls Under 14 division.
In the first game the pinkshirts of Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i was 6-1 better than the orangeshirts, and in the nightcap, the GIFC-14 bettered their younger counterparts, 6-2.
With the victory, Ha‘aheo Kaua‘i commands the lead of the division at 4-0 followed by the GIFC-14 at 2-1 and the GIFC-13 at 0-4.
In a highly anticipated contest, the Westside United shut down the GIFC-Cougars, 6-0 to remain tied for the lead in the Boys Under 14 division, sharing that slot with the Cougars.
They are followed by the Eastside Galaxy who took a 4-0 win over the Westside Falcons. The Galaxy improve to 1-2-1 followed by the Falcons at 0-3-1.
Games continue at the North Vidinha soccer fields on Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m.
