PUHI — Michelle Woltmon posted the highest individual score for the girls, including a day’s best 91 in the prone position, but Island School fell to visiting Kapa‘a, 1133-1092.
That win gave the visiting Warrior air rifle team a sweep over Island School as the Kapa‘a men posted a 1063-931 over Island School in a match that was rescheduled from a previous date.
Kapa‘a girls posted five scores in the 200-range, led by Heather Walker (90-80-62-232), Kamala Rojas (84-77-70-231), Alma Iglesia (80-77-71-228), Darlene Jarquio (84-80-62-226), and Britney Inanod (79-7562-216).
Woltmon, despite strong showings in the prone and kneeling position, succumbed to teammate Richelle Ridenour in the standing position, Ridenour finished with a 76, the best individual score of that position in the day.
Ridenour went on to lead the Island School wahine with a 236 (82-78-76) followed by Woltmon (91-89-52-232). Maddisen Domingo (76-79-55-210) picked up the gap followed by Blaise LaMadrid (78-77-54-209) and Lexa Mink-Flacco (80-72-53-205).
Kapa‘a men were paced by Rusty Klutke (84-79-68-231), Ian Ramos (87-72-65-224), Ikaika Fernandez (86-71-65-222), Jonathan Ganir (87-67-52-206) and Phillip Hawley (71-61-48-180).
Carlos Maibeth-Mortimer, whose 92 in the prone position was the highest individual score in the match, finished with 204 (92-74-38) to lead the Island School men. He was followed by J.Riley Louis (84-67-49-200), Logan Domingo (75-65-54-194), Kaylen Blaine (76-62-34-172) and Ian Ruiz (67-58-36-161).
With the sweep, Kapa‘a hosted Kaua‘i yesterday, while Island School opened its range up to visiting Waimea.
