Juanita Silayen
Juanita Malangen Silayen of Lihu‘e died on Sept. 3, 2007, at the age of 85. Born in the Philippines on May 12, 1922, she was a retired groundskeeper for Kiahuna Golf Course.
Preceded in death by husbands, Alberto Silayen and Juan Dumaguing, and two brothers in the Philippines, she is survived by daughters Dominga (Agustin-deceased) Dacuyan, Conchita (Puleriano) Parinas, Amelia (Juanito) Duarosan; son Efren (Nilda-deceased) Dumaguing; sister Lolita Cabuco; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Saturday, Sept. 15. Friends can visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Silayen family with the arrangements.
Lisette Allysa Galiza
Lisette Allysa Galiza, of Kaumakani, died Sept. 3, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 2 months.
Born June 21, 2007, on Kaua‘i, she is survived by parents: Leonard and Noka Galiza of Kaumakani; brother Elison Blaise Galiza of Kaumakani; paternal grandmother Maria Galiza of the Philippines; uncles, aunts and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13 at #37 Kaumakani Camp (second right turn) and again from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Burial will be in Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Marciana Garma
Marciana Villa Mahor Garma of Hanalei died Sept. 4, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 82.
Born March 3, 1925, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a produce clerk.
She is survived by her husband Ricardo Garma Sr. of Hanalei; daughters Rosalina Linda (Ernie) Ancheta of Kapahi, Yolanda (George) Baldwin of Kapahi and Leona Lemn of Anahola; sons Ricardo (Carol) Garma Jr. and Norbert (Mel) Garma, both of Hanalei; sisters Leonidas (Rudy) Azares of Puhi, Dionicia (George) Hashimoto of San Francisco, Calif., Romula Kigar of Lancaster, Ohio, and Irene (George) Anderson of Kapahi; brothers Florentino Pete (Sandy) Mahor of Kalihiwai and Modesto (Jaye) Mahor of Lihu‘e; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juan Pablo and Marcella Mahor and brothers Juan Chris Mahor and Alfredo Mahor.

Llewellyn Nohili Yadao
Llewellyn Nohili Yadao, of Hanalei, died at home on Aug. 29, 2007, at the age of 44. Born in Waimea, on Oct. 9, 1962, he was a kalo mahi‘ai.
Preceded in death by his father William Julian Leandro Yadao, he is survived by his mother Helen Maxima Iida; brothers Leland Kuwalu (Elaine) Yadao, Barry Alan (Everlyn) Yadao; sisters Yvonne Ernestyne Puanani (Greg) McKeown, Donna Marie Wailani (Rudy) Yasay, Dee Ann Lei ‘Ilima (Nolan) Rapozo, Moana Nohealani Chun, Desiree Tiare (Jerrad) Macayan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Black Pot in Hanalei.

Antonina Lee
Antonina (Arruda) Lee of Waimea died at her home on Sept. 5, 2007, at the age of 94.
Born in Waimea on Jan. 18, 1913, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her husband Richard Polan Lee; daughters Dorothy Richardson and Irene Lee, and son Joseph Lee, she is survived by 12 children, Eveline (Norton) Malina of Lihu‘e, Dixie Lee Ambrocio of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Richard (Winnie) Lee of Honolulu, Nancy (Nicholas) Taniguchi of Waimea, Gwendolyn Lee of Santa Monica, Calif., Vivian Lee of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Randy (Cookie) Lee of Waimea, Paulette Tokuda of Gardena, Calif., Mary Lee Inuma of Gardena, Margaret (Edward) Kahale of Makaweli, Theresa (Delbert) Silva of Lawa‘i, Tomasine P. Lee of Waimea; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Also surviving are sisters Isabel Takekawa of Kekaha and Beatrice Calizo of Honolulu, son-in-law William Richardson of Honolulu, daughter-in-law Pua Lee of Honolulu.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at Sacred Hearts Catholic Church in Waimea; Mass at 11 a.m. followed by burial at the Kekaha Chinese Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.
