Traffic and parking arrangements are being made for former Mayor Eduardo Malapit’s funeral services scheduled for Saturday. The funeral will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa.
Those attending the service should park at Koloa Ballpark. A round-trip shuttle bus service will be provided to take passengers from the park to the church beginning at 8:30 a.m. Parking attendants will be stationed at Koloa Ballpark.
Anyone requiring accessible parking will be accommodated at the church grounds on a space-available basis.
There will be no parking along Hapa Road from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. No parking signs, traffic cones and road barriers will be placed on the shoulders of Hapa Road. Motorists are advised to exercise caution while driving on Hapa and Weliweli roads or seek alternate routes.
Immediately after church services, family members will be transported by bus to the church cemetery for private burial services. Buses will be parked on the shoulder of Koloa Road, at the base of the roadway that leads to the cemetery.
From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., westbound traffic on Koloa Road will be diverted to ‘Oma‘o Road.
