In an effort to establish direct communications with Kaua‘i residents, the county is set to launch an eNews program. “Oftentimes, information regarding what’s happening in county government doesn’t reach the vast majority of our community,” said Mayor Bryan Baptiste. “We felt that we needed to create a link with our citizens so they can receive current and important information directly from county government via e-mail.” The mayor noted that county workers along with community members will be visiting or calling their neighbors over the next two Saturdays to inform them about the eNews initiative and invite them to sign up for it. Those interested in participating in the eNews program will be asked to provide their e-mail address that will be used strictly for the program and not shared with others. The eNews program consists of “eNewsletters” and eNewsblasts. Information in the eNewsblasts will be critical and time-sensitive in nature, and will be sent out about 10 to 12 times per year. The newsletters are scheduled for release on a quarterly basis. To sign up for the eNews program, please send an e-mail with your name and town you live in to eNews@kauai.gov and ask that your name be added to the list of recipients. If you don’t have an email address and would like to receive the same information sent through the eNews program, please call 241-4299.
