Victoria ‘Vicki’ Bengoian
Victoria “Vicki” Bengoian of Lihu‘e died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Aug. 9, 2007, at the age of 88.
Born on Nov. 23, 1918, in Springfield, Mass., she was an accomplished seamstress who crafted beautiful dolls and exquisite quilts. She was also owner and founder of Vicki’s Restaurant and also Rose & Vicki’s Bakery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Siragan (Benny) Bengoian; brothers, Barkev Mikaelian and John Kezerian; and sister, Gladys Kezerian Murphy.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Bengoian and Dottie (John) Ouligian Bengoian; sister-in-lawJean Kezerian, brother Thomas Kezerian; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews Barbara (Joe Doran) Kezerian; Tully, Meredith, Carrie, James, Joe Doran, Mike (Doreen) Kezerian, Maureen Pugatch, Michelle and Donny; friends Doug Guthrie, Ron Drake and Danette (Mel) Perreira; and caregivers Marina Domingo and Domi Robles.
Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, where services will be held at 11 a.m. At Victoria’s request her body has been cremated. Donations may be made to the Kauai Hospice.
Warren Rapozo
Warren Edward Rapozo, of Kailua-Kona, died Aug. 8, 2007, at his home at the age of 64. Born Jan. 13, 1943, in Waimea, he was an award-winning artist, former police officer and owner of the former Rainbow Cutting Company hair salon.
Private services will be held.
He is survived by his wife Edna Rapozo of Kailua-Kona; daughter Tasha Rapozo of Kailua-Kona; partner Nick Ripp of Kailua-Kona; mother Albina Rapozo of Makaweli; brothers Norman (Jane) Rapozo of Makaweli, Brian (Andre) Rapozo of Hilo; and two granddaughters.
Arrangements are being handled by Cremation Services of West Hawaii.
Albert Kuriki
Albert Katsumi Kuriki of Lihu‘e, died at his home on Aug. 4, 2007, at the age of 74.
Born in Lihu‘e on April 21, 1933, he is survived by his wife Jane; sons Byron Kuriki, Clayton Kuriki and Curtis (Cheryl) Kuriki; daughters Colleen (Keith) Okada and Laura Kuriki; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three sisters, Rita Nakashige, June (Sunyei) Iha and Kate (Takazuo) Satoda; nieces and nephews. Donations to Hospice Kauai. Services were private.
