Brian B. Hickey
Brian B. Hickey of Princeville died suddenly and unexpectedly in Honolulu on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2007 at the age of 46.
Born in New York on Jan. 22, 1961, he moved to Kaua‘i with his wife, Betsy, in 1994. Here he pursued his passion for surfing and fishing and was also an avid skier. He was a loving husband, father, and had many close friends who shared his passion for life.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy (Brakenhoff), his daughters Malia Emerson, 10, as well as his mother, Catherine, brothers Chip, Dan, Joe and Paul, and sisters Mary Gail and Naomi as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Black Pot Beach in Hanalei. All who knew him are welcome.

Daniel R. Costa of Kalaheo, Kaua‘i, passed away at his home on Aug. 5, 2007 at the age of 83.
Born in Kalaheo, Kauai on June 16, 1924, he was a power plant operator with Kauai Electric.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Wayne (Dawn) Costa of Oma‘o and Howard (Laurie Arrisgado) Costa of Lihu‘e; daughter, Cynthia Shimogawa of Puhi; four grandchildren, Shantelle (Eugemar) Manibog of Lihu‘e, Duane Shimogawa Jr. of Kalispell, Mont., Calvin and Sheldon Costa, both of Oma‘o; one great-grandson, Cody Kendan Manibog of Lihu‘e; brother, James Costa of Lihu‘e; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo; mass officiated by Father Nap will begin at 5 p.m. Casual attire is suggested.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary.
