Baby Makoa Kekumukupa‘amakawaiolaokalani Carvalho of Lihu‘e died July 27, 2007.
Born June 7, 2007, he is survived by his parents, Roxanne K. Apana and Aaron K.H Carvalho Sr. and brother Aaron “A.J.” Carvalho Jr., maternal grandparents Walter L. and Carol Apana of Anahola, paternal grandparents Cathi “Kawahine” (Kenneth) Green of Mays Landing, New Jersey, Dennis G. Carvalho of Kaumakani, great-grandparents Margaret Goodwin-Akana of Kapahi, Connie Carvalho of Lihu‘e, Carmen “Boots” and James Panui Jr. of Anahola, Frank (Lynette) Bukoski Sr. of Koloa, Dorothy Bramlett of O‘ahu, Marie Green of Pleasantville, New Jersey, great-great-grandmother Elizabeth “Granny” Bukoski of Koloa.
Also surviving are aunts Kelly (Mark) Kawasaki of Pearl City, O‘ahu, Judy (Kalani) Kelekoma of Hilo, Jamie (Galen) Shigeta of Kapa‘a, Christy (Leland) Keale of Anahola, Leilani (Wayne) Laranio of Wailua, Kamala (Dennis) Morales of Wailua, Kamaile (Pradeep) Chand of Kapahi, Kalehua (Robert) Barrack of Anahola, Ilima Apana of Wailua, Marilee (Michael) Chandler of Kalihiwai, Napua Nakamura of Kalihiwai, Alisa (Joe) Gerald, Patricia Green, Iris Green, and Judith (Kurt) Brown, all of New Jersey, Petra Abat of Kekaha, Deniese Young of Waikoloa, Rosie Bukoski of Koloa, Uli‘i Castor of Koloa, Maile (H.K.) He is also survived by uncles Aina (Sunny Jo) Apana of Anahola, Norman (Priscilla) Waipa/Akana of Lihu‘e, William Akana of O‘ahu, Stewart “Kopa” (Lela) Akana of Kapa‘a, Calvin Fu, Billy Apana, Dennis Apana, Daniel (Lynda) Panui of Orlando, Fla., Donald (Vanessa) Green of New Jersey, David “Lanakila (Aka) Bukoski of Koloa, Derwin “Zoom” (Leah) Bukoski, Scott (Gail) Bukoski of Kea‘au, Jason (Pua) Panui of Puhi, Montgomery “Monty” (Yumi) Panui of Kaneohe, O‘ahu, Frank “Kiko” (Nadine) Bukoski of Wailua, Paul (Elaine) Panui of Koloa, Samuel “Jumbo” (Lola) Bukoski of Koloa, Leonard (Brenda) Carvalho of Lihu‘e, Steven Carvalho of Lihu‘e, David (Cookie) Carvalho of ‘Oma‘o, and numerous cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Aug. 8, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary Chapel, where services will be celebrated at 6 p.m.
The family requests no flower arrangements. A lei of Aloha may be brought in honor of baby Makoa.
Charles T. Appel, formerly of Kaua‘i, died at hme in Laguna Niguel, Calif., on July 25, 2007, at the age of 69.
He and his wife Joan enjoyed four years of retirement life on Kaua‘i before returning to California.
He is survived by his wife Joan; children Paul and Andrea Appel, Laurie and Rick Pycz, Suzanne and Grant Jones, Karen and John Fovos, and Molly and Ian Morse; 12 grandchilden; brother Eddie and sister Helen.
A funeral Mass was held Wednesday in Monrovia.
