Alcohol and speed may have been factors in a fatal car crash that occurred early yesterday morning, county officials said.
At about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, 34-year-old Kapa‘a resident Craig Miller was traveling westbound in a Toyota sedan on Kawaihau Road when he apparently lost control of his vehicle.
The car slid onto the grass shoulder in the vicinity of Pu‘u Ka‘a subdivision in Kapahi, according to a Kaua‘i Police Department statement.
Miller, the only occupant of the vehicle, struck a hollow tile wall and a tree.
He was taken to Wilcox Memorial Hospital, where he died of injuries.
