Practice begins in earnest starting July 30 for Lihu‘e Pop Warner Association, one of five districts in the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Association.
“Once again, Young Brothers has stepped up to the plate and demonstrated its support and commitment to our youth,” said Gracie Grace, president of the LPWA in a press release.
Grace was on hand to receive a grant from the Young Brothers Community Advisory Board along with other LPWA board members.
“With the aid of the Young Brothers grant, LPWA will continue its commitment to be drug-free,” Grace said. “Additionally, the grant will help certify LPWA coaches in CPR and first aid. This will enable LPWA to provide a safe and positive environment for its players and participants.”
As part of its commitment to be drug-free, LPWA will continue to implement a mandatory drug testing for all coaches and staff within its organization.
Grace said this is the third straight year LPWA will be doing this program.
Earlier, LPWA made a mark on youth sports by being the first in the national Pop Warner organization to implement mandatory drug testing for all its coaches and staff.
“LPWA wants to thank Young Brothers for its dedication and commitment to our youth and community,” Grace said. “We also send our heartfelt thanks to the entire Young Brothers ‘ohana.”
