The Kaua‘i Filipino Community Council will stage the 49th Annual Miss Hawai‘i Filipina Pageant at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall on July 28. The theme of the pageant is “The Power of Today’s Youth.”
The pageant is a scholarship event which will enable contestants to win much-needed grants for post high school education. It is also an opportunity for outstanding young women of Filipino ancestry to be recognized as each one will showcase her talents and beauty in the different phases of the competition.
The contestants representing five islands include: Diane Marie C. Agbigay, Island of Hawai‘i; Cierra Batoon-Rauch, Maui; Jerrica-April Gasmen, O‘ahu; Deishalei Maile Pico, Moloka‘i; and Maggie Celebrado, Kaua‘i.
The Miss Hawai‘i pageant will be held in conjunction with the 49th Annual United Filipino Council of Hawai‘i Convention at the Hilton Kaua‘i Beach Resort on July 27-29.
