Harry T. Saiki
Harry T. Saiki of Wailua died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 8, 2007, at the age of 91.
Born in Wailua on Jan. 6, 1916, he was the Wailua Golf Course grounds supervisor with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by son Raymond Saiki of Torrance, California; four daughters, Mary Jane Fujimura (Kay) of Cerritos, Calif., Lorraine (Gary) Sanowof Hyrum, Utah, Carol Saiki-Paler (Ray) of Lihu‘e, and Renee Furukawa (Gary) of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, Mamoru Saiki, Charles Saiki, Robert Saiki, James Saiki and Clifton Saiki; sister Kiyoko Terao; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14; at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission; service at 11 a.m. Casual attire, flowers omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Domingo Escalante
Domingo Escalante of Tacoma, Wash., died July 8, 2007, at the age of 73.
Born on April 25, 1934, in the Philippines, he was a machinist.
He is survived by his wife Verna K. Escalante; brothers Faustino Escalante and Franklin Lemon; children Franklyn Escalante, Kimberly Escalante, Hester Franco, Maxine Cutler, Robert Escalante, Maximo Escalante, Moroni Escalante, Angela Escalante, Moses Escalante, Raylene Garcia and Donna Mae Kuhn; 40 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Tuesday at the Kapa‘a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., and the service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary.
Yolanda R. Schredder
Yolanda R. Schredder, 52, died July 10, 2007, at her home in Koloa.
Born Oct. 27, 1954, in Indonesia, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband Greg Schredder; son Kalani Schredder; sisters Olinda Robbertze and Ineke (Grary) Kennedy; two nieces and one nephew.
A celebration of her life will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at Kukui‘ula Small Boat Harbor. Casual attire is requested.
