Harry T. Saiki
Harry T. Saiki of Wailua died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 8, 2007, at the age of 91.
Born in Wailua on Jan. 6, 1916, he was the Wailua Golf Course grounds supervisor with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by son Raymond Saiki of Torrance, Calif.; daughters Mary Jane Fujimura (Kay) of Cerritos, Calif., Lorraine (Gary) Sanow of Hyrum, Utah, Carol (Ray) Saiki-Paler (Ray) of Lihu‘e and Renee (Gary) Furukawa of Kane‘ohe, O‘ahu; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Mamoru Saiki, Charles Saiki, Robert Saiki, James Saiki and Clifton Saiki; sister Kiyoko Terao; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission; service at 11 a.m. Casual attire, flowers omitted.

Kiyoji Masaki
Kiyoji Masaki of Waimea died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on July 4, 2007, at the age of 72. Born in Waimea on Aug. 8, 1934, he was a retired county engineer with the County of Kaua‘i.
He is survived by son Jon Masaki of Waimea; daughters Sharlyn (George) Kanna of Kalaheo and Allison (Gary) Jones of Los Alamitos, Calif.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Kimie (Alan) Higashiyama and Mikie Miyasato; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Kikue Nakamura
Kikue Nakamura of Kalaheo and a resident of Lahaina, Maui, for 46 years, died at her home on June 22, 2007, at the age of 95.
Born in Wahiawa, O‘ahu, on Oct. 1, 1911, she was a retired dressmaker.
She is survived by son Henry E. Nakamura of Burbank, Calif.; daughters Gladys Y. (Steven) Uyehara of Kalaheo and Clara S. (Larry) Hu of Newark, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at the Kauai Bible church, service at 10 a.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.

Beatrice Narciso
Beatrice Veto Narciso of Lihu‘e died at home on June 30, 2007, at the age of 80.
Born in Kilauea on April 15, 1927, she was a teacher in the Philippines and on Kaua‘i and retired from Kauai Hilton hotel.
She is survived by her husband Sergio Narciso Sr., seven children; Ramon (Maria) Narciso of Lihu‘e, Diana (Brent) Goplen of Chicago, Regina (Ricardo) Igaya of Lihu‘e, Sergio (Liza) Narciso Jr. of Washington state, Fresco (Caroline) Narciso of Lihu‘e, Virginia (Martin) Vazquez of North Carolina, Pedro (Marirose) Narciso of Oregon; two brothers Larry (Danita) Vito of California, Jose (Erlinda) Vito of Hanama‘ulu; 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family requests that all donations be made in memory of Beatrice V. Narciso to the following organizations: Immaculate Conception Church, Attn: Father Bill Shannon, 4453 Kapaia Road, Lihu‘e, HI 96766, ph. 245-2432, or Lihu‘e Senior Center, P.O. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. The family requests casual attire.

Lawrence Somers
Lawrence Hutchinson Somers of Honolulu and Makaweli, died on July 3, 2007, at the age of 83.
Born in Grinnel, Iowa, on April 11, 1924, and formerly of Berkeley, Calif. He served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Monterey in the South Pacific during WWII. A retired manager from Ameron HC&D and member of the First Presbyterian Church of Honolulu, Waimea United Church of Christ, the Pacific Club and the Outrigger Canoe Club.
He is survived by wife Lois; sons David and Stephen; daughters, Nancy Shaw and Carol Emberson; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. Private family services to be held on Kaua‘i.
Shelley Strada
Shelley Strada of Hanalei died at Wahiawa General Hospital on May 31, 2007, at the age of 57 after a prolonged bout with multiple sclerosis.
Born in Long Beach, Calif., on Nov. 20, 1949, she was a singer and songwriter.
She is survived by her son Jackson, grandson Jaden, sister Donna, brothers Jimmy and Rick, mother Jean (Jack) Gault, and father Nelson Farber.
Friends may visit with the family at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at Pine Trees Beach in Hanalei. This celebration of Shelley’s life will include music and flowers and touching base with old friends. Shelley’s ashes will be scattered in Hanalei Bay with the support and aloha of the Canoe Club.
Shelley and her former husband Louie once owned a grocery store in Wainiha. She entertained many people at Club Med in Hanalei as a band member of Tropical Punch and performed in venues on Kaua‘i and in California.
