Team Central wins 13U title
John Das scored a dozen points, Duke Pauli, Keoni Kinzi and Nalu Simao chipped in 9 points apiece to lead Team Central to a 50-29 showing over the Gee Unit in one of two games played Thursday night.
The Gee Unit 13 and Under team from the 3 G’s Nation basketball program finished with Donovan Harrison, Brendon Tillett and Adam Clark netting 8 points each in the effort.
P.J. Oligo combined with Arial Lahip and Galen Bostick for 13 points as Westside edged Hanakila 21-19 in the night’s opener.
Elmer Cudiamat topped the Lanakila effort with 7 points followed by James Stevens with 4 points. Marlon Cudiamat and James Paik dropped in 3 points each and a pair from Kawika Wellington rounded out the effort.
Following the three Westside scoring leaders, Christian Garma and Brandon dropped 3 points each and a Garrett pair rounded out the victory.
Keane Agoot, normally a scoring dynamo for Team Central, followed the four scoring leaders with 7 points and 4 points from Kaawa Solomon rounded out the win. Solomon was named the MVP.
Dane Bautista rounded out the Gee Unit effort with 5 points following the four scoring leaders.
Mokihana Aquatics fundraiser pushed up
The Moloka‘i Bread fundraiser pickup for the Mokihana Aquatics swimming program will no longer be today at the Wal-Mart, but has been pushed up to next Saturday, July 7.
The pickup time will remain 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Wal-Mart. All purchased tickets will be honored. For more information or inquiries, call 821-0587 or 651-4216.
