A summer music camp for kids will be held at The Church of Pacific and directed by Carmen Dragon, president and founder of North Shore School of Music.
The camp commences July 23 and concludes July 27. Instruction ranges from beginning to intermediate and is offered for children in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Other teachers include island musicians Fred Dente, Kimmer Morris and Tapairu Manea.
Classes include beginning ‘ukulele, piano, guitar and harp; intermediate ukulele, piano, guitar, harp, recorders, Tahitian drums, Tahitian ‘ukulele; and a new vocal course with international vocal instructor Sueann Pinner.
Classes are only $13.50 per day or $81 for six days. Classes are 45 minutes in length in small groups of up to 10 students. The deadline for the deposit of $40 per class is July 15.
Some special events include a free art project for kids who take more than one class, a July 28 jam session and a fund-raising concert July 22 with proceeds going to the North Shore School of Music and The Carmen Dragon Cancer Research Fund.
