Kaua‘i police have tentatively identified the body of a man found at Larsen’s Beach Wednesday morning, according to Mary Daubert, county spokeswoman.
She could not say whether the body was that of Roy Overstreet, the 42-year-old swimmer from Bellingham, Wash., who was reported missing Sunday evening. There is no family on-island to confirm his identity.
While a relative on the Mainland said that the family has been notified, Daubert emphasized that police are awaiting the arrival of dental records tomorrow for a positive identification before releasing the man’s name.
An autopsy also is expected to take place tomorrow.
