Final week for cheer sign-ups
Interested participants for the Koloa Pop Warner Association 2007 tackle football season are reminded that this is the final week for registration for cheerleaders.
Football is ongoing through July.
Cheer registration and football sign-ups will be 5 to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Koloa Ball Park and the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center. There will be no late registration.

Kukui‘ula Outrigger hosts fund-raising golf tournament
Kukui‘ula Outrigger earlier this week announced plans for its inaugural golf tournament set for July 8 at the Kiahuna Golf Course in Po‘ipu. Proceeds from the tournament will go to support the club and raise money for the “End Ice on Kaua‘i” program.
The tournament is limited to 120 golfers (two-man scramble, Calloway System handicap) and all participants receive complimentary use of the driving range, 18 holes of golf, shared golf cart, food, no host bar with prizes and a silent auction. Registration has already started.
Check in starts at 10:30 a.m. and a shotgun start will be at noon.
The contests include, “Hole in One for a Harley” sponsored by Kauai Harley Davidson, Closest to the Pin, Putting Contest and the Red Bull Final 5.
Entry fee is $85 and sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Hanalei Canoe Club hosts Tahiti Fete
The Hanalei Canoe Club will host its 22nd Annual Tahiti Fete at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 30.
There will be outrigger canoe racing, crafts, food, kids’ events and special drawings. All that is needed to participate is a team of five people from any racing levels. The club will supply the canoe, the paddles and a steersperson.
Entry is $100 per crew pre-registration and $125 per crew on race day. Individuals may buy a seat in a canoe for $25.
