Charged with 41 counts of second-degree promotion of child abuse, Randall Dwight Honjo appeared yesterday in Circuit Judge Kathleen Watanabe’s courtroom.
At the hearing, which was continued to next week, Attorney Mark Zenger entered a motion to withdraw as Honjo’s counsel.
Honjo’s criminal record includes third-degree and fourth-degree sexual assault charges that stem from an August 2002 incident.
He was sentenced to five years imprisonment in October of that year and ordered to pay $734 in restitution fees as part of his punishment.
According to the Hawai‘i Criminal Justice Center’s Sex Offender and Offender Against Minors Information database, Randall is a registered sex offender.
