Amber Thronas was working out at Vidinha Stadium as coach Dave Walker was orienting his summer track students.
Amber is home for just nine days before going back to Western Oregon University where she will be a senior. And since she’s a WOU soccer player (the only one from Hawai‘i), she said she’ll see if she can check out the soccer clinics that start Tuesday.
Amber wasn’t the only one working out. Tiffany Ikeda-Simao and Andrew Renaud were also honing their track skills as the young tracksters listened in their shadows.
Andrew’s dad was watching the workouts and said Babe Ruth baseball started Saturday with Wes Masumura as coach of the Lihu‘e team. Now, if we can get a schedule…
Congratulations to Richard and Carolyn Booth who celebrated the 16th anniversary of Aloha Kaua‘i Pizza on the 16th of June … mahalo to the squirrel eating Doritos for that little heads-up, and mahalo to Carolyn for sharing that cheese pizza with Blake Jones … she likes the meatless lasagna.
On a side note, Carolyn said there’s a special on Paul Booth as a film maker on OC16 that still has a few more dates when it will air.
If the traffic wasn’t that clogged, it might’ve been nice to talk story with Mary Lou Mendes, too.
Oh well, it’s time to go back to the traffic…
