Joshua Fouts, assistant soccer coach at the University of Hawai‘i, will lead the free Speed & Quickness Soccer Clinic starting Tuesday.
Joining Fouts will be All-WAC players Lehua Wood and Jessica Domingo. Shawn Higa also will be on the staff of camp counselors. Rich Miano and Mel DeLaura will also be on hand to lead the camps.
The Speed & Quickness soccer clinics will be held at three different island sites to enable as many players to take advantage of the opportunity to work with the Hawai‘i coaches and players, said Roy Nishida, the Kaua‘i coordinator for the Speed & Quickness program.
On Tuesday, players between 6 to 12 years old are invited to the Waimea High School gym from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
Following that, players 13 years and older are invited to the camp that runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, the camp moves to the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School open gym following the same schedule.
Thursday’s camp will be held at the Kapa‘a High School gym following the same schedule as the Waimea clinic.
The Speed & Quickness clinics are designed to teach athletes to become faster, quicker and excel in all sports, and is sponsored and presented by the County of Kaua‘i.
