That’s only one of a whole mess of stuff happening this weekend as David Tao and Harvey Maeda are hoping the rains stay away until after Saturday so they will have a good turnout of cars for the Father’s Day car show at Kukui Grove.
And it doesn’t end there … check out Sharon Gibson and her Nawiliwili Yacht Club gang for the fishing tournament on Sunday morning. It’s going to end just as Aunty Kapu Kinimaka-Alquiza opens the doors to the summer ho‘ike for Na Hula O Kaohikukapulani (their parents make some broke-da-mouth baked goods) … hm-m-m, are Monique Kan Souza and her girls still dancing?
Meanwhile, hats off to Craig and Lori Koga and all those volunteers for getting the Kaua‘i High School athletic field face-lifted. Derick Wong was still showing the red from a full day in the sun when he and Marlene were shopping at Wal-Mart, and when you have the Coca-Cola guy there, you know it’s a big project, right, Ralph Suniga?
Coach Hank Ibia thought he was going to cruise and enjoy the PONY baseball game, Sunday. Not. Eric Cremer needed help, so coach Hank was “volunteered” to do base umpiring so the boys could play … good job, coach! And, good job to Leah Scovel who was jockeying between the game and the athletic field project.
