Summer track and field will be held at Vidinha Stadium starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and will go on for approximately one month.
Youth athletes will be introduced to regular track and field events such as running long, triple and high jumps and also hurdle events.
Throwing of the discus and shot put will also be coached.
Age groups will follow the USATrack and Field guidelines for youth, open and masters athletes and all must enroll in the USATF program.

Volunteers, officials and coaches are invited to attend and assist with registration timing and judging.
Top performers may be able to attend state, regional and national meets at their own expense. However the state organization may assist a few top athletes to attend regional or nationals.

Team Soccer Direct camps start June 25
Soccer players between the ages of 5 through 17 are invited to the Team Soccer Direct Camps that will be held at Island School on June 25 through 28.
Some of the soccer skills that will be covered include positional training, goalkeeping and shooting. Each area of expertise will be covered on a single day of the camp.
Soccer players in the Kaua‘i Soccer Association and AYSO are invited to take advantage of special rates that include $45 off a full-day rate and $20 off the half-day rate.
The half day camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon with a special KSA/AYSO tuition of $95.
The full day camp runs from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is available to KSA/AYSO players for $160.
According to KSA commissioner Kevin Devitt, this year’s Team Soccer Direct staff will also be hosting a special high school camp geared for the high school players.
The high school camp will run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. with a $95 tuition.
Tuition includes instruction by the Soccer Direct staff, T-shirt, Quality Brine Ball and an award.
Full-day campers should bring a lunch, snack and sunscreen.
Half-day campers need to bring a snack, water and sunscreen.
The Soccer Direct staff is composed of the best coaches in the Western region of the United States. Coaches from D-1 UC Irvine will coach along with many other licensed coaches. According to the registration flier, many of the coaches have either played on professional or collegiate teams, or have United States Soccer Federation Coaching licenses.
Players are given professional instruction in areas such as skill training, tactical decision-making and position play.
In addition to learning the game of soccer, players learn the meaning of camaraderie, team play, sportsmanship and spirit through a curriculum developed by NCAA coaches.
