Lokomaika‘i ‘Kai’ Chandler
Lokomaikai “Kai” Chandler was born on April 23, 1981, to parents Kirkland Kuhio Chandler Sr. and Hilary Ferris-Chandler. On May 31, 2007, at age 26, Kai passed on.
Kai is loved and survived by his parents; brothers Kuhio (Amber) Chandler and Kaleo (Heather) Chandler; sister Kapua Chandler; grandmothers Kapeka Chandler and Helen Ferris; grandfather Robert Ferris; nephew Kamalei Chandler; half-sister Kaimana Kuhaulua; immediate aunts and uncles Pualani and Robert Baptista, Francis “Junior” and Rhoda Chandler, La‘aboy and Aimee Chandler, Moku and Nancy Chandler, Jeff and Linda Chandler, Venna Chandler, Colin and Coty Chandler, Belinda Chandler, Kainoa and Skip Forrest, Pa‘ula Chandler, Lahela and Jackie Correa, Conrad “Rackey” Chandler, Luka Chandler, Ben and Collette Ferris and Beth and Stuart Harada. Kai is also loved and survived by extended aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Services to honor Kai’s life and passing will be on Saturday, June 9, at St. William’s Church in Hanalei from 1 p.m., service will begin with pule at 2 p.m.
Scott Y. Yoshida
Scott Yoshiichi Yoshida, of Kapa‘a, died at Queen’s Medical Center on May 31, 2007, at the age of 43.
Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu, on April 13, 1964, he was a machine operator with Young Brothers, Ltd.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Soriano Yoshida; sons Bryce and Grant Yoshida, of Kapa‘a; parents Reuben and Florence Yoshida; grandmother Namiko Yoshida; brothers Jason and Todd Yoshida; parents-in-law Thomas and Nives Soriano; brothers and sisters-in-law Irineo (Thelma) Soriano, Ruben (Darlene) Soriano, Edwin (Luzviminda) Soriano and Emilie (Dominador) Bucasas; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Kapaa Missionary church, followed by a celebration of his life from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. officiated by Pastor Mark Randolph. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Genaro Lagazo
Genaro Tabing Lagazo, of Kaumakani, died May 29, 2007, at Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital at the age of 83.
Born in the Philippines, he was a seed cutter.
He is survived by his wife Solidad M. Lagazo; sons Calvin (Valerie) Lagazo, Jerry Lagazo, Sr., Gerard (Sylvia) Lagazo, Ronald (Wanda) Lagazo, and Genaro (Shelly) Lagazo Jr.; daughter Valerie Lagazo; brothers Leonardo Lagazo and Remideo Lagazo; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa, where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m.
Burial to follow at Hanapepe Public Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
