Judy Lenthall is looking ahead to Tuesday when the Kaua‘i Food Bank celebrates National Hunger Day. She was on the mall Thursday with the mall regulars … sometimes it seems like Kaua‘i Bakery is where the problems of the island get solved.
Mark Ozaki was in the audience along with a lot of other people like Sandi Sterker when the council convened their budget hearing. Sandi was one of those ladies who beat out the Boy Scouts and went to clean the Veterans Cemetery a week earlier and got help from Capt. Aaron Cudnohufsky (he was honored at the Chamber luncheon as well).
And you know it’s a Chamber function because Pua Belmonte and Carol Texeira were the official greeters. Tom Clements (where was Johnny Michael?) got to join the Kaua‘i Economic Development Board group, and even Mike Murakoshi of First Hawaiian Bank came to see Gov. Linda Lingle … Leland Kahawai said the Kaua‘i Nursery & Landscaping crew came and replaced the invasive Australian tree ferns in front of their bank with non-invasive varieties.
Jane Garma dropped in on the West Kaua‘i Bronco championships and said the Waimea High School cheerleaders were also honored by the council members Wednesday. She was checking out not only the baseball game, but the practice for flag football which starts its season today.
Congratulations to all the graduates! Best wishes on a successful road ahead and stay safe!
