Dennis Ginez held off tough competition in the Truggy A and Buggy divisions for top honors at the Garden Isle R/C Racers’ off-road event Sunday.
Wendell Esposo, bested by Ginez in the Truggy A division, finished in second place and earned Top Qualifier honors. He joined Ginez, who got TQ honors in the Buggy division, and Paul Vidinha, who topped the Monster Truck division as well as copping TQ honors.
Randy Alcantara held a consistent race to top the Truggy B division over Aaron Tranilla, Art Asuncion and Aaron Amarin.
Following Ginez and Esposo in the Truggy A class, Arnold Morales, Aaron Arizo and Dimi Rivera rounded out the leader boards.
Ginez was followed by Amarin, Dennis Morales, Rivera and Seth Morales in the Buggy division.
In the Monster Truck class, Phillip Acob, Don Almadova and Aaron Tranilla followed Vidinha’s lead.
Arnold Sales of the G.I. R/C Racers said the organization expresses its appreciation to Jim Rosa for contributing the lumber that was needed to construct the new driver stand at the Wailua course. The construction effort was headed by Esposo.
