There weren’t any punts or kickoffs in last night’s simple red and white scrimmage game. But Kaua‘i High School’s spring football game was anything but simple with as many incomplete passes there were in the game.
The first quarter was a disappointed scoreless one.
Action only picked up in the second when Baron Rapozo caught an interception to put the white team on the board. It was 6-0 going into the half.
But the third quarter wasn’t any better, as it was just like the first.
Red quarterback Blake Gingerich had no problems finding the open player. His only problem was making sure the players held on to the ball. He took matters into his own hands with a minute left to play and ran for a 20-yard touchdown to tie the game.
The Raiders start pre-season games in August.
In the earlier junior varsity game, the white team won 12-0.
