Kate Robinson (16-1) earned the win with her 16th complete game in 2007.
The win over the Bruins is Hawai‘i’s second straight extra-inning victory after the Rainbow Wahine defeated UC Santa Barbara 2-0 in 10 innings Friday. The ‘Bows are now 4-2 in extra-inning games.
Following five scoreless innings, the Rainbow Wahine mounted a rally starting with Kaulana Gould getting her second hit of the game. Tausaga followed with a blooper single to centerfield and Robinson hit a third straight single to load the bases for Peiler who drove in Gould on a sacrifice to open up the books.
UCLA answered when Tara Henry singled to left and scored on a Jodie Legaspi RBI single up the middle.
With no scores in the seventh, the contest went into extra frames to set the stage for Peiler.
