HONOLULU — The state budget bill which lawmakers passed out of the Legislature last week includes over $43 million for Kaua‘i capital improvement projects. House Bill 500, H.D.1, S.D.1, C.D.1 passed a final vote in the House and Senate and is now before the Governor for approval.
Throughout the 2007 session, House members focused on legislation targeted at enabling people in Hawai‘i to meet their basic needs, especially housing, healthcare, energy and education concerns. Lawmakers also sought to give meaningful tax relief to Hawai‘i residents.
The following projects are proposed in the state budget for fiscal years ‘08 and ‘09, for a grand total of $43,247,000.
